Kia Signs Clippers Star Blake Griffin To Spokesperson Role

Kia Motors America (KMA), which has been ramping up its involvement in the National Basketball League and has been running on all cylinders sales-wise, has just signed a deal with the NBA star who won the Sprite Slam Dunk by leaping over the hood of an Optima, through whose moonroof a team mate handed him the ball. Say that three times. The video of the dunk went viral and Michael Sprague, VP marketing told me a few weeks ago that it was still getting eyeballs.

Blake Griffin, the LA Clippers star who made the leap, will be official global spokesperson for the Kia Motors brand in a multi-year deal. He will appear in ads, marketing materials, at events, and other promotional activities. He joins pro golfer Michelle Wie, the other Kia spokesperson.
