Goodbye, Eminem; Hello, Clint?

Chrysler is neither confirming nor denying reports that Clint Eastwood will replace Eminem as the star of this year’s Chrysler Group LLC advertisement during Sunday's Super Bowl.

The actor is, reportedly, to deliver "a pep talk" to the nation, the News said. Chrysler spokeswoman Dianna Gutierrez said the company is mum. The two-minute spot would represent the automaker's effort to follow up on the success of last year's "Imported from Detroit" spot that garnered an Emmy. "It has become the standard by which other ads are judged," said Michael Bernacchi, a marketing professor at the University of Detroit Mercy. "America is still talking about it."

But Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne has acknowledged that it will be tough to top the success of last year's spot.
