Steven Tyler To Rock Out In Skittles' Super Bowl Ad

Skittles has released a made-for-sharing, two-second GIF featuring Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, teasing its Super Bowl ad.

Tyler is shown singing into a mic—intriguingly, in a library setting.

This marks the Wrigley brand's first use of a celebrity (with the exception of sports star Marshawn Lynch) in its TV commercials, reported Adweek

The ad, from DDB Chicago, is a continuation of Skittles' "Taste the Rainbow" campaign.

Skittles made its Super Bowl debut last year, with a humorous ad called "Settle It", with an arm-wrestling theme. The spot ranked 29th in USA Today's Ad Meter.

Parent company Mars—which is an official NFL sponsor—announced in November that both Skittles and Snickers would be back for the 2016 Super Bowl.

Snickers's "Brady Bunch" parody in last year's big game ranked 12th in the Ad Meter and won the inaugural Super Clio award for best ad in the game for the BBDO New York creative team.
