LGBTQ online publisher Q.Digital announced Justin Garrett will be the company’s first chief revenue officer.
Garrett will lead and oversee all Q.Digital sales and spearhead Q.Digital’s sales initiatives, including partnership and audience development, as well as supervise key national accounts. Garrett will report to Scott Gatz, Q.Digital’s founder and CEO.
Q.Digital owns LGBTQ properties like Queerty, a news and entertainment site, Gay Cities, a global travel site, and LGBTQNation.
Garrett told Publishers Daily this was a good time for Q.Digital to add the position of CRO. The company is “looking at forward and upward growth from both an audience perspective and revenue perspective.”
He said he is looking forward to growing Q.Digital’s existing advertising business and key development deals in the works.
“We are really looking at an expanded presence in the travel space. Gay Cities is really the only site of its kind to do such a great job for providing LGBT travelers with information about where to go, where to eat and where to stay,” Garrett said. “We are looking at expanding the footprint of that site and grow travel advertising as a result.”

In his new role, Garrett will also work closely with the editorial department and integrated-marketing department to create and implement multiplatform initiatives across Q.Digital’s leading portfolio.
Garrett was previously VP of digital sales and publisher at Here Media -- an LGBT-oriented media company -- since 2012. Prior to Here, Garrett worked for two decades in digital sales, management and integrated marketing with MTV's LOGO, Travelocity, PlanetOut and Gamespot.
