'USA Today' Debuts High School Sports Awards Show

USA Today has unveiled a podcast-style show, the 2023 USA Today High Sports Awards. 

Scheduled to debut on Sunday, July 30,  this year's show will be available on the USA Today High School Sports Awards website, and on the USA Today Sports YouTube Channel, and the USA TODAY channel streaming on multiple platforms online, including XUMO, The Roku Channel, Amazon News, Tubi and Samsung TV Plus. 

The program honors the athletic feats of over 40 athletes in 18 sports, including baseball, softball, track & field, volleyball, lacrosse, field hockey, cross country, golf, bowling, soccer, hockey, gymnastics, wrestling, basketball, football, flag football, swimming & divingand tennis.

It will also highlight the Special Olympics and Courage Awards. It will also honor the outstanding coaches of the year , the  Girls and Boys athletes of the year and Girls and Boys teams of the year.

Sports columnist Christine Brennan will serve as emcee for the show, along with co-hosts Ryan O’Leary, USA Today Ventures Content Manager; Barrett Fontana, USA Today Ventures Content and athlete operations specialist and Cydney Henderson, USA Tidat Sports Now reporter.  

“The program not only recognizes and awards the top performers in high school athletics, but also tells the stories that happen on and off the field of resilience, courage and perseverance,” says Jason Taylor, Head of USA Today Network Ventures.
