Journalist Jim Rich is returning as editor in chief of Deadspin, a a sports news and opinion website, effective July 31, G/O Media has announced.  

Rich returns after working on  consulting projects including developmental work at A&E Networks.  

Previously, he served as editorial director of G/O Media and editor in chief of Deadspin. He is credited with successfully relaunchubg the site.

Rich has also served as editor in chief of the New York Daily News, executive editor at HuffPost, deputy managing editor, sports at the New York Daily News and night sports editor of the New York Post.  

While at the Daily News in 2016, Rich oversaw a year-long investigative project that won the Pulitzer Prize for public service journalism.
