 Scooter’s Coffee, the coffee house and drive-thru chain with almost 700 units in 29 states nationwide, has begun the search for its first-ever “Dogfluencer.” The contest is part of Scooter’s celebration of National Dog Day on Aug. 26.

Customers can submit their pup for consideration by liking and following Scooter’s Coffee on Facebook or Instagram; going to a Scooter’s Coffee location on Aug. 26 and taking a photo of their dog enjoying the free Pumpkin Spice Pup Cup the chain will be giving out all day, and uploading it to their Facebook or Instagram until Aug. 27, using the hashtag #ScootersPupCup and tagging Scooter’s Coffee in the post. 

Those free Pumpkin Spice Pup Cups available on Dog Day are made up of all pup-friendly ingredients, including whipped cream, a pumpkin dog treat and a dusting of cinnamon. The first 15 canine customers at each Scooter’s Coffee store that day will also receive a bandana imprinted with the Scooter’s Coffee logo.

Customers can vote for their favorite dog from the top six finalists through Aug. 29. The winning pup with will be announced on Aug. 30 and receive the grand prize of appearing on a billboard near the chain’s headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska. The winning dog’s owner will receive a doggy bag of surprises and free coffee for a year, via a credit through the Scooter’s Coffee Mobile App. The remaining finalists will also receive a doggy bag.

“We know how much dogs mean to our customers, and with the upcoming launch of the Scooter’s Coffee fall menu and popular pumpkin offerings, we wanted to provide something special for our pup friends to celebrate National Dog Day,” says Scooter’s Coffee Chief Community Officer Bill Black, in a press release.

The chain also recently announced it will be the new title sponsor of the Frisco Bowl college football game in Texas, per a  multiyear agreement. Beginning with this year’s game on Dec. 19, Toyota Stadium, the official bowl name will be the Scooter’s Coffee Frisco Bowl.
