It's A Wrap: What's New In QSR This Week


 

More chains expanded their limited time holiday offerings this week, in addition to new locations from Marco’s Pizza and a reopened Northern California Taco Bell.

New Locations

Buona and The Original Rainbow Cone restaurants announced the opening of its ninth dual-concept location in Kildeer, Illinois. The dual concept combines Buona's Italian beef sandwiches with Rainbow Cone's signature Rainbow Cone, which contains five flavors of chocolate, strawberry, Palmer House, pistachio and orange sherbet.

Chicken Salad Chick announced the opening of a second location in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Southern chain is celebrating the grand opening on Nov. 14 by giving free chicken salad for a year away to the first 100 customers.

Marco’s Pizza opened its newest location in Magnolia, Florida. The 2,400 square-foot restaurant has both indoor seating and a bar to create a gathering space for local residents.

Sweet Paris Creperie opened its second location in Minnesota inside the Mall of America, the largest shopping destination in the U.S. The brand, which already has a large footprint throughout Texas, specializes in sweet and savory crêpes, waffles and salads.

Taco Bell announced the reopening of a remodeled location in Brentwood, California. The Northern California store features a “new and improved ordering process” with a double drive-thru menu board and pick up window for to-go orders, as well as full kiosk access for dine-in orders.

New Menu Items

Baja Fresh added Nashville Hot Chicken to its menu for a limited time. The chicken appears in the chain’s Nashville Hot Chicken Burrito and Nashville Hot Chicken Taco Combo through Jan. 22

BurgerFi International added jumbo chicken wings to its menu in three flavors: Original, Memphis Sweet BBQ and Frank's RedHot Buffalo. The chain has also added BurgerFi Bowls, which feature a base of crispy lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, jalapeño and haystack onions, giving customers the option of topping the bowls with their choice of a Burger, Cheeseburger, VegeFi patty, or Fi'ed Chicken Tenders. A White Chocolate Peppermint Shake will also be available for a limited time.

Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop added a limited-time offering of gravy and mashed potatoes. The chain claims fans clamored on social media for the side dish to accompany the chain’s popular Thanksgiving-inspired “The Bobbie” sandwich, which is made with slow-roasted turkey topped with cranberry sauce, handmade stuffing and mayo.

Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers announced its limited-time holiday items, which includes the French Onion Steakburger and the OREO® Cookie Peppermint Shake. Both are available through Jan. 2.

Hardee's brought back its Cinnamon ‘N’ Raisin Biscuit until Jan. 2. It was first featured on the menu in 2002, with occasional returns over the years. The chain has also added Candied Bacon, which appears on the restaurant’s breakfast items and burgers as well as on its own as a “snack pack.”

Long John Silver's brought back its Wisconsin White Cheddar Cheese Bites. The bites, coated in breading and fried, are available in large and small sizes.

Maggiano’s Little Italy announced its family-style Thanksgiving menu, which includes three main courses of Roasted Turkey, Country-Style Baked Smoked Ham and Branzino Fresca Style. Sides include Sage & Sausage Stuffing and desserts such as  Pumpkin Praline Cheesecake. Other additions include Roasted Butternut Squash Ravioli, Crab Cakes in a lobster cream sauce and a Bourbon Peach Smash cocktail.
