Ryan Joe Named EIC Of 'Adweek'

Adweek has named Ryan Joe, a veteran marketing journalist, as editor in chief.

Joe will “help lead the way in our continuing efforts to elevate the Adweek newsroom to deliver even more incisive, data-driven insights and intelligence to our audience across multiple platforms,” says Zoë Ruderman, chief content officer, to whom Joe will report.

There was no immediate predecessor--Ruderman created the role after joining Adweek last year.

Previously, Joe was senior advertising editor at Business Insider. He has also served as managing editor of AdExchanger and as a senior editor at Haymarket Media Group’s Direct Marketing News.

As to his plans, Joe says, “Our newsroom will expand editorial coverage as we adapt to the fast-changing marketing industry ecosystem and make the increasingly complicated world of digital media more understandable and accessible to our audiences.”

Ruderman joined Adweek last November, as did Drew Schutte, chief revenue officer.
