Report: TiVo To Offer Demo Data

Weeks after Google announced a deal that will incorporate Nielsen's demographic TV audience data into the digital set-top clickstream data from its Google TV ads, digital video recorder marketer TiVo plans to also begin providing demographics to its advertisers, The Wall Street Journal reports. It was not clear from the report where TiVo would derive the demographic information, but the emphasis on demography is striking given that many believe the ad industry ultimately will scrap demographic in favor of behavioral targeting.
