New Yorkers Bless In-Taxi Media

  • July 11, 2003
Schaller Consulting claims New Yorkers like in-taxi TVs. According to an in-taxi survey in May of 2003, 93% of passengers expressed acceptance of the in-cab video systems, and only 2% rated the systems as poor. In fact, 83% of riders were enthusiastic, rating their experience as "Good" or "Excellent." The three in-taxi video vendors that participated in the survey were Clearchannel Communications, "Taxi-Vu" and "I Love Taxi TV." All companies run programming exclusively about New York. I Love Taxi TV's programming partners include A&E, The History Channel and NYCTV, the TV station of the City of New York. TaxiVu produces their own Manhattan fare as well, and have partnered up with Public Broadcasting System giant WNET-TV. Participating advertisers in the program include Verizon, American Express, Bally's Health and Fitness, Cingular, and various local businesses. The companies plan to conduct additional surveys for advertiser use.
