Adweek this week posted an article, titled "Programmatic for Dummies," in an attempt to answer: "What is programmatic anyway?"
In the post, Adweek explores the many
different possible descriptions of programmatic, such as ads being bought like products on Amazon, auction-based advertising where the buyer is paying whatever price an ad is worth at a given moment,
buying specific audiences, the idea that machines will handle all of the processes, etc.
