Rubicon Taps Bacher As MD, Northern Europe

Rubicon Project this week announced the appointment of Frank Bachér as managing director, Northern Europe. He will report to Jay Stevens, Rubicon's international general manager.

Bachér was formerly managing director, marketing and sales, for one of Germany's largest online sales houses, Interactive Media CCSP GmbH. He has also held executive positions for Sabre Travel Network and eBay.

In a statement, Stevens said the appointment of Bachér "underlines the potential of the German market and its demand." The company calls Bachér "one of Germany's most experienced media experts."

Bachér, citing his experiences with marketplace technology at Sabre Travel and eBay, said "I know how automation technologies make markets grow." He added: "I will use that experience, alongside my knowledge of the German sales houses and publisher landscape, to accelerate real-time advertising in Germany and across Northern Europe.”

Other ad tech companies such as OpenX and The Trade Desk have also made moves in the German market in recent months.
