Screenvision, Spotlight Announce New Hires, Promotions

It’s been a busy week in the cinema advertising world. Fresh off its upfront presentation, Screenvision, the country’s second-largest cinema ad network, announced a number of new hires on the sales and marketing side.

Spotlight Cinema Networks, a smaller competitor, also announced the promotion of Ronnie Ycong to the role of senior vice president for exhibitor relations and operations.

Screenvision’s new appointments include the promotion of Christine Martino from vice president of national ad sales for the Eastern region to senior vice president of national ad sales. Tracy Kain has been promoted from vice president of national sales, based in Detroit, to vice president of national sales for the Western and Detroit regions.

Screenvision’s new hires include the appointment of Andrew Gyves, formerly of CNN, as senior director of national accounts; Laura Griffith, formerly of Metro Parent Publishing, as national account executive, Detroit; Eric Nathanson, formerly of ReelzChannel, NFL, and Disney Internet, as national account executive for the Western region; Matt Wiesenfeld, formerly of MediaVest, as national account executive, based in New York; and Celeste Roman, formerly of Nickelodeon, as sales service executive, also based in New York.

The promotions and new hires come close on the heels of the departure of Screenvision’s former CEO, Travis Reid, who will however remain on the board as an investor. Screenvision is looking for a replacement. Reid’s departure followed the failure of Screenvision’s planned merger with its larger rival NCM.

Also this week, Spotlight Cinema Networks announced the promotion of Ronnie Ycong from his previous position as vice president for exhibitor relations to his new role as senior vice-president for exhibit relations and operations.

In his new position, Ycong will assume responsibility for ad fulfillment, trafficking, production, quality control and scheduling. Over the last four years, Ycong helped double Spotlight’s cinema ad network to it current total of over 800 screens. Before joining Spotlight, he was director of exhibitor relations at Screenvision.
