Members of the Shop Your Way program will be able to buy more than 300 magazine subscriptions on Sears.com and ShopYourWay.com. In return, they will get the full cost of the magazines back in Shop Your Way points, usable on purchases at Sears and Kmart.
For example, if a member buys $30 in magazine subscriptions, they will receive the same amount in Shop Your Way points to be used for future purchases at Sears and Kmart.
Sears Holdings spokesperson Howard Riefs told Publishers Daily there are “tens and tens of millions of members” of Shop Your Way.
The partnership, which launches this summer, will initially test certain magazine titles from Time Inc. and Synapse Group’s network, which includes over 700 magazines from various publishers, such as Hearst and Meredith.
Synapse Group is a marketing company acquired by Time Inc. back in 2006.
Magazines available to members will include Sports Illustrated, Time and US Weekly, Riefs said. “We envision all Time Inc. titles participating in this program” eventually, he added.
Shop Your Way will also use its data analytics and marketing engines to create personalized magazine recommendations based on members’ preferences, interests and purchase behavior.
