Roger Stone’s wife Nydia is using Newt Gingrich’s email list to raise funds for her husband’s legal defense, according the Associated Press.

The list reportedly contains 250,000 email addresses.

A lengthy email went out on Tuesday, under Nydia Stone’s name, requesting funds to fight what she has called "fabricated" charges. She has also blasted what she calls the “terrifying pre-dawn” raid on the day of her husband’s arrest.

According to the report, a Gingrich aide said that Gingrich rents his list to causes that are not “totally off brand.” The Stone rental had the team’s approval, it continues.

Stone has pleaded not guilty to making false statements and obstructing a Congressional investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Nydia Stone has also said that her husband “refuses to make up stories about the president or bear false witness against him," referring to the possibility of Stone’s cooperating with Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.  

She claims the defense could cost $2 million.

On Wednesday, former Trump aide Stone urged a federal judge to hold Mueller’s office in contempt for allegedly leaking the indictment to CNN in violation of a seal, according to Politico. CNN and Mueller’s office both deny there was any leak.
