OOH Capital Extends Global Reach With 3 New Partners

OOH Capital, a global Out-of-Home advisory consultancy, has hired three executives.

The company has extended its global reach with the arrival of three new partners: Jim Liu, Sheldon Silverman and Fred Kuhlman will handle Asia, the United States and Benelux, respectively.

Liu is based in Shanghai, Silverman in Chicago and Kuhlman in Amsterdam.

Previously, Liu was head of OOH in China for Zenith Media, later setting up Group M’s Kinetic China. Sheldon Silverman was a founder of Liquid Marketing and CEO of the SmartBomb Media Group in the U.S., while Kuhlman, was a founding partner of Nationaal Adviesbureau Buitenreclame in the Netherlands.

OOH Capital advises OOH businesses, cities, real estate owners and technology suppliers on various areas, including strategy, briefs, data analytics, asset evaluation and research.

It operates globally and advises on mergers and acquisitions, OOH digitization strategy and implementation for governments, local authorities and cities.

The company says OOH accounts for an estimated 7% of the $600 billion worldwide ad market.

Since its launch in March 2021, the consultancy has advised financial institutions, cities, private equity, public transport networks, real estate trusts, agencies and tech platforms; its specific roster is kept private.

Of the new hires, Tom Goddard, chairman of OOH Capital and the former Ocean Outdoor chairman, said: “They will join our existing partners in a dedicated client-focused specialist OOH advisory service, with the experience to take a truly global, holistic view.”

In the U.S., out-of-home ad revenue increased 38% in the third quarter of 2021, compared to the previous year, accounting for $1.75 billion, according to Out of Home Advertising Association of America's (OAAA) OOH Ad Revenue Report findings, reported Dec. 7, 2021. Digital OOH is leading the overall OOH recovery, as the segment rose 56%, compared to Q3 2020. Year-to-date, OOH ad revenue totals $5.1 billion, an increase of 10% over 2020.

The top 10 U.S. advertisers in the third-quarter 2021 were McDonald's, Geico, Apple, Amazon, American Express, Walt Disney Pictures, Allstate, Dunkin', Chevron and Barclays.
