DDB Worldwide has named McCann veteran Alex Lubar to the new post of Global President & Chief Operating Officer, making him a potential heir apparent at the agency behind Global CEO Marty O’Halloran, to whom he reports. The appointment Is effective In October.

Lubar joins DDB with what the agency called "extensive global leadership credentials." Most recently he has served as president, McCann North America. He joined the IPG agency network in 2012 and has served in several regional leadership roles during his tenure.

Prior to his NA role Lubar led McCann's Asia Pacific region. Earlier he was CEO of McCann London. Prior to that he served as global CMO.

Before joining McCann, Lubar held leadership roles with agencies including Grey and BBH.

O’Halloran stated that Lubar "will further strengthen my global leadership team and help us reach higher levels of organic and net new growth, while also continuing to put creativity at the center of all that we do.”
