Fox's Strike-Resilient Lineup: Non-Scripted, Animated Shows Will Start New Season

Even as the TV writers' strike draws out, Fox Tuesday provided the first glint of what the start of the new fall prime-time season will look like, unveiling a scheduled comprised mainly of non-scripted and animated programming.

The schedule, which launches Sept. 19, includes no live-action, scripted entertainment programming.

Fox's Monday through Friday lineup is loaded with non-scripted/reality entertainment series, returning competition and game show series, including “The Masked Singer,” “LEGO Masters," “Kitchen Nightmares," “Hell’s Kitchen,” and “Celebrity Name That Tune,” among others.

One all-new game show, “Snake Oil," hosted and produced by David Spade, has contestants being pitched products from entrepreneurs -- some real, some fake -- which is where the show gets its name from. Contestants need to figure out the real from the fake "snake oil salesmen."

The season includes all-new episodes of Fox’s long-time, venerable Sunday night animated series: “The Simpsons," “Bob Burgers,” and “Family Guy."

New animated series “Krapopolis” will get the 8:30pm time slot, starting with a two-hour special premiere showing on Sunday, Sept. 24.

While Fox's announcement does not explicitly reference the writers’ strike, it does say scripted TV shows are still set to premiere later this season.

Dramas include: “9-1-1: Lone Star," “Accused,” “Alert: Missing Persons Unit,” and “The Cleaning Lady,” with comedies “Animal Control” and “Grimsburg” planned.

I knew that Fox was going all reality/game shows as that is writer-strike proof. The new season will not start until Jan as it looks like no end to the writers strike.
