VEVO! VEVO! VEVO! From the moment I left the VEVO party last night and didn't run home to "file a story" as they say in serious journalism land, Twitter was alive with VEVO blather. From musical guests to the tools (human and technological) themselves, everyone wanted a piece. Today is no different with the VEVO storyline weaving into random Tweets and follow up stories covering the infrastructure hiccups the platform seemed to be having. With the "I saw VEVO go down first" competition wrapping up, I give you a look into the past - into last night, the night before …

Many in Utah deem the beer offensive, maybe rightly. Still, it was too bad the bar didn't have Polygamy Porter. The local favorite's label features a nude guy surrounded by six women. And its tagline is hard to top: "Why have just one?" So, it would have been fun to watch people react as a bartender handed over a bottle. And maybe a keg of laughs if a battle of the punch lines broke out.

It's always hard to double down on parties. In my role, that's a lot of talking, running around interrupting people with my camera, and running away from people who want to touch my camera. But I figured it was Friday, I was already out, and the NYC EXTREME LOCAL (party at M Studios was sort of right around the corner -- so what the hey, right? By now you're probably already getting that hyperlocal is the new big buzzword: a sort of sidewalk-level view of really anything (services, shops, food joints, dealers), but what in the name of all that …

If you think reducing slides in a Powerpoint deck or cutting words out of your byline is difficult, imagine working with representatives from 192 countries to deforest 176 pages of a draft climate agreement. The teams meeting at the Copenhagen climate summit, day one being today, are talking about our PLANET. Lives and stuff, not burgers and fried mac and cheese (mmm). The hope is these teams will walk away with a clear case to present to the political big wigs at their talks beginning December 15th. Kofi Annan will address the conference, supporting his project Tck Tck Tck, a …

I don't care what you do or don't celebrate, I just hope you're happy, healthy, able to pay rent, able to pay your mortgage, unable to resort to violence, devoid of stomach holes and ulcerative colitis, not yelling at strangers in Union Square who stop dead in their tracks for no good reason during the end-of-work pedestrian rush hour... well, you know what I mean. So grab your favorite tacky holiday sweater, whip out your online scheduling tool, and let's see if our holiday party schedules tango...

Last night the company I kept included a magician, a baby-faced DJ, silver-masked spandexed sprites, men in bright pink lipstick, a transsexual New York City icon, the original gangsta (you know, the OG) of celebrity gossip, grass, advertypes, a smoking hot rapper from Chi-town, marketing types, music types, and the most confusing waitress ever. Before I discovered pictures of myself and my +1 wrapped in boas and facially adorned with Dr. Peepers' oversized glasses this morning, I thought maybe it had been a disco fries-induced dream. But it wasn't...

Last night, with my Ohio turkey day festivities sadly quietly behind me, I jumped back into the party swing with the Swiss Picture Bank launch party. This begins what is already shaping up to be a VERY heavy holiday party month.

The holidays are upon us, and what that means for those of us in marketing, media and advertising is email subject lines that are clever and stuff. Oh you know what I'm talking about - stuff like "The 12 Days of Email" or "all I want for Christmas is job security." I will try my best, dear friends, to not fall into this trap, but I'm human, I'm a sucker for packaging, and nothing makes me happier than being able to squeeze some sort of Grinch, mistletoe, stuffing, and overeating reference into Just An Online Minute. With that, as the …

Last night, I had no notion of what Notional was all about and what kind of goofy nerd extravaganza awaited me. Blasts from the Nickelodeon past, courtesy of PRNewser's Joe Ciarallo oddly enough, "The Cosby Show," MTV, Channel One, and good ole "Best Week Ever" were all around the IAC, and each person was nicer than the next. I spent 90% of my night laughing with the boisterous partiers celebrating the third season of "Chopped" under Ricky Van Veen's video production wing, Notional, and 10% getting my dorky fan girl on. Ok, let's be honest, I spent 10% of the …

Last night I attended one of my favorite events, the Ad Council's Public Service Award Dinner, this year honoring Muhtar Kent, Chairman and CEO, The Coca-Cola Company. It's a night of black ties and cummerbunds and floor-length gowns draped with furs (faux, I'm sure)(not really) of varying lengths, and a plate of perfectly cooked meat slab all topped off with an after-party hit by a class-5 hurricane of chocolate-covered and powder-dusted desserts. All this is in honor of the best kind of advertising: the kind created not to inspire consumers to super-size it, but to come to the aid of …
