    Clear Channel is set to surpass a digital milestone in the UK this year, according to forecasts that predict it will generate more revenue from electronic advertising displays than traditional billboards and posters. The figure illustrates the huge leap the company has made with its digital billboards. In 2015 its digital displays generated 30% of its UK revenues.

    Google has announced that its YouTube app for iOS is now compatible with its virtual reality headset, Cardboard. Last fall, Google announced that it would begin to support virtual reality content and would also make its existing library of videos viewable through Cardboard. At the time, Google Cardboard was only compatible with YouTube's Android app. It is now on the App Store as well.

    O2 chief executive Ronan Dunne is exploring a debt-fuelled GBP8.5bn management buyout attempt following the collapse of CK Hutchison's takeover bid for the mobile operator, The Daily Telegraph can reveal. The Irishman, 52, has been approached in recent weeks by potential private equity sponsors aiming to carry out what would be the largest UK leveraged buyout since before the financial crisis.

    During ITV's two-and-a-half-hour live show on 15 May in the presence of Her Majesty, it will air a royal-themed ad break to celebrate the Queen's birthday. Called Skintrack, it works by using a combination of a wristband and a ring that you wear alongside the smartwatch.

    France's largest anti-racism group, its Jewish students' union and a gay rights movement are suing three social media networks for failing to remove racist, anti-semitic and homophobic content. In a joint statement on Sunday, the Union of Jewish Students, SOS Racisme and SOS Homophobie said they were taking legal action against Twitter, YouTube and Facebook.

    In his new role, Forrester will lead the UK operation at the music streaming service, which is believed to be approaching 100 million active users globally. In the UK Spotify has around 30 staff, divided between UK and international sales. Forrester will report to Jonathan Forster, the EMEA vice president of sales at Spotify.
