Chancellor Philip Hammond has reassured the high street that he is considering what Sky News refers to as an "Amazon tax." It would be a new way of taxing e-commerce operators to protect retailers from unfair competition from companies that are taxed less and often run their accounts through lower tax regimes outside the UK.

Twinings, the tea brand, is looking for a new agency after parting ways with AMV BBDO, according to "Campaign." The site claims the move may have been caused by Twinings requiring its new agency to work to a tighter brief. AMV BBDO will not repitch for the new work.
Press Gazette
"Press Gazette" is speculating that Paul Dacre has edited his last edition of "The Daily Mail" to give new editor Geordie Greig longer to settle into the new role. Dacre was officially pencilled in to depart in November, but the site believes he has quietly stepped aside sooner to allow a longer transition period.
Mobile Marketing
L'Oreal has announced a partnership between its augmented reality makeup app, ModiFace and Facebook. It will allow users to try out new makeup looks, "Mobile Marketing" reports.
