Everyone's social feeds have probably been inundated with pictures of what people will look like in 40 years, but "The Guardian" has a privacy warning about FaceApp. It was launched by a Russian developer two years ago and, the paper alleges, stores pictures of people without their consent.

Google has suspended advertising from the controversial ticket resale site, Viagogo, amid claims it is being used by ticket touts rather than providing a convenient place for true fans to pass on tickets they cannot use. "The Telegraph" points out the move comes as the site faces legal action from the CMA for not doing enough to reform the way it operates.

Ad ad for a Dyson air fan has been banned by the ASA for implying it is cordless, the BBC reports. The television ad shows the fan with no lead for the vast majority of the spot, implying, the ASA believes, that it does not need to be plugged into a main socket.

Farage jokes that because that the industry, in his view, likes a drink and is lightly regulated, he could make some money at it in the future.

Britain has woken up to its first ad for a cannabis-based product, "Campaign" reports. Ignite has been set up by a poker player and Instagram influencer, Dan Bilzerian. It is available in lip balm, drops or vape form and contains CBD, which is claimed to have beneficial properties, but no THC, which gives the high. The campaign is running across digital, display, outdoor and print.

A grilling from the Senate has prompted Facebook to agree that it will put its plans for a cryptocurrency on hold until it has satisfied the concerns of the US Treasury and other regulators around the the globe, "Sky News" reveals.
The Drum
The IPA Bellwether Report for Q2 2019 shows overall marketing growth grinding to 0%. A lack of certainty around Brexit is being blamed. "The Drum" points out, however, that internet and "main media" advertising are increasing, albeit at around half the rate of the same period last year, but are being counterbalanced by declines in sales promotions, PR and direct marketing.
