Wayne Gretzky, Kim Kardashian To Pitch For Skecher USA

Wayne Gretzky, the Pro Hockey Hall of Famer and record holder, is set to appear in ads for Skechers USA as part of the shoe brand's "Comeback" campaign. He will be in numerous media executions for its "Shape-ups" fitness footwear. The campaign conceit is that he's getting back in shape to return to the sport that made him a star.

Gretzky follows in the "footsteps" of Joe Montana, Karl Malone and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who have also been in the year-old "Comeback" campaign.

The effort will include TV, print, viral and outdoor. TV breaks this spring on network. And Skechers will also advertise in Super Bowl XLV. The Bowl game Shape-ups ad will feature Kim Kardashian who, on her blog, said the ad's narrative involves her having to "Break someone's heart in the end . . . but you'll have to wait to see why!"
