Ford Motor's Lincoln division is partnering with Time Inc. for a multi-platform program called New Century Design. The program promotes the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid and MKX crossover models and spotlights
various personalities whose respective disciplines represent "a thoughtful integration of technology, usability and ease," according to a company release.
Featured are Craig Calfee, who uses
high performance and sustainable materials such as carbon and bamboo to build high-end bicycle frames; Linda Allen who developed a line of indoor/outdoor wireless table lamps and
helped design a solar powered light that allows communities in Africa to continue to thrive past sunset; the dDesign Firm, AvroKO; and entrepreneur Guy Kawasaki.
Lincoln gets ads for the
crossovers in "Food and Wine," "Travel + Leisure," "Departures," "InStyle," and in the Time iPad edition. The program will also run in the Sept. 26 issue of "Fortune" and in the October issue of
"Essence."
Digital units are in Time and American Express Publishing sites, and there is a microsite, LincolnIdeaSeries.com, which includes a promotion dangling one of four themed, luxury
prize packages and a series of videos produced by Time Inc. Studios.
