In its ongoing efforts to boost consumers’ seafood savvy, Whole Foods is sending 11 of its best fishmongers to the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen later this month, where they will compete in its first Fishmonger Face-Off.
“On the heels of the announcement that Whole Foods Market is the first retailer to no longer carry red-rated wild-caught seafood,” the Austin, Tex.-based retailer says in its release, “ the Fishmonger Face-off will highlight its fishmongers who work daily to help educate shoppers about responsibly-caught seafood choices and cooking tips.”
The contest includes a race to fillet a Copper River salmon, followed by a game of seafood trivia.
