Not-So-Sandy TV: NBC Still Wins As 'The Voice' Adds Viewers

The-VoiceDamage from Hurricane Sandy may have put some 8 million East Coast viewers out of the reach of TV sets, but some highly touted shows found ways to grow their respective audiences on Monday versus the week before.

NBC's "The Voice" at 8 p.m. picked up 16% to a Nielsen preliminary 5.0 rating/12 share among 18-49 viewers, up from a 4.3 rating a week earlier. ABC's "Dancing With the Stars,” also at 8 p.m., added on 13% to 2.7/6 for its two-hour telecast.

To be fair, some of this was due to three networks -- CBS, Fox, and CW -- changing their schedules because of the hurricane and going into reruns. Hurricane Sandy affected some 10 states on the East Coast. For its part, CBS went with a 10 p.m. news special on the hurricane and did a decent 2.1/5.

NBC's big rookie show "Revolution" was down a bit -- a 3.1/8 from 3.3 the week before. ABC's "Castle” was at 2.7/7.

NBC won the night among 18-49ers, with 4.4/11; ABC was next, with 2.7/6; CBS, 2.2/5; Univision, 1.6/4; Fox, 1.0/2; and CW, 0.4/1.
