Corp. named Julie Henderson executive vice president, chief communications officer of 21st Century Fox. The company is the result of News Corp.'s division into two distinct entities.
appointment was touted as part of a "new chapter in the company's history" by Chase Carey, COO/president of News Corp.
Henderson will continue as spokesperson for the company, in addition
to leading all global communications initiatives, such as M&A, regulatory issues and litigation. Another part of her new responsibilities is managing the 21st Century Fox corporate brand
Since January 2012, Henderson has been senior vice president, corporate affairs and chief communications officer of News Corporation. Before that, she was SVP, communications and
corporate strategy. Prior to joining the corporate office, she served at Fox Interactive Media and ran the digital unit of mPRm Public Relations.
Last June, News Corp. divided the business
into two independent companies: one oversees global media and entertainment businesses, the other houses News Corp.'s newspapers, integrated marketing, book publishing, sports programming and pay-TV
As of March, the company reports an estimated $68 billion and total annual revenues of $35 billion.
