'National Journal,' Fusion Team For 'Next America' Project

  • October 30, 2013
National Journal's "Next America" project and Fusion will jointly produce political, economic and cultural news for a more ethnically diverse America. Atlantic Media is National Journal's parent company. Fusion, which launched on Monday, is the new TV and digital network from ABC and Univision. Next America will explore how the changing demography is altering the national agenda.

"America is undergoing the most profound demographic change since the turn of the 20th century. Just look at the impact it's had on politics," said Ronald Brownstein, director of Atlantic Media. "Through 'Next America,' our goal is to show how this wave is also transforming classrooms, workplaces and communities around the country. Minorities are projected to reach majority status of the overall population by the early 2040s, and majority status in the under-18 population within this decade.
