TuneIn Airs NCAA Championship Coverage, Sports Events

TuneIn, a live radio online listening service, is getting play-by-play coverage of the 2014 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship courtesy of radio content syndicator WestwoodOne, the companies announced this week.
Under the terms of the deal, WestwoodOne is providing TuneIn with full play-by-play for all 67 games, kicking off earlier this week with the Selection Sunday games on March 16 and running through the Final Four games in April.

Plus, TuneIn is getting WestwoodOne coverage of additional NCAA championship events, including the Division I Women's Final Four in basketball, the Men's Frozen Four in hockey, the Men's and Women's College World Series in baseball, and the Division I Men's Lacrosse Semifinals and Championship.
The partnership also gives TuneIn access to “College Basketball Today on TuneIn,” a daily wrap-up and look-ahead program hosted by TJ Rives and Mark Wise, produced by WestwoodOne for TuneIn, airing April 4-7. The show will feature interviews with special guests, coaches and players as the championship reaches its climax.
Matt Cutair, WestwoodOne vice president for digital operations and sales, stated: “This extended partnership ensures that college hoops fans can access the games and our advertising partners receive true multiplatform distribution of their messaging.”
The NCAA and its affiliated companies have been expanding their content partnerships just in time for March Madness. Earlier this week, NeuLion, which maintains a network of over 170 NCAA team Web sites, struck a deal with USA Today giving it access to content from these Web sites.

The partnership also calls for shared sales of digital advertising sponsorships, as well as joint production and syndication of content across both NeuLion’s online sports network and Gannett Co.’s own range of college sports platforms. Those include USA Today Sports, the Amway Coaches Poll for college football and Gannett’s network of 81 local newspapers and 42 local broadcast TV stations
