BSSP Nabs GSD&M's Susan Noonan

Susan Noonan is leaving Omnicom’s GSD&M to become Executive Director, Media and Analytics at Butler, Shine, Stern & Partners (BSSP). In this newly created position, Noonan will help BSSP define new strategies and opportunities in programmatic buying and data analytics. She will report to CEO Greg Stern and oversee a team of over 25 staffers.

BSSP, which built a trading desk several years ago, is adding this position as the agency seeks to capitalize on the continually changing dynamic between media, data and creativity. “Susan is a media innovator, a smart listener and business strategist and a strong leader and mentor,” said Stern.

Over the course of her decade-long tenure at GSD&M, Noonan helped create multi-faceted media plans across digital, social, mobile, broadcast, print, and OOH. She has worked with clients including Whole Foods Market, U.S. Air Force, AT&T, and LL Bean.

Noonan is just the latest high profile executive to depart from Austin-based GSD&M. Last month, the agency laid off about a dozen staffers, including SVP, Managing GCD David Crawford, Producer Steve Shaw, and SVP, Account Director Scott Moore. At the time, CEO Duff Stewart said these changes were necessary after the agency lost several notable accounts and current clients switched up their strategies.

Based in Sausalito, CA, BSSP provides full-service media capabilities to clients including MINI, Greyhound, Blue Shield of California, Sunrun, Columbia Sportswear and Sorel.
