Assembly Taps 3 New Managing Partners For Europe

Stagwell’s Assembly has added three managing partners in Europe, including James Appleby, Alex Boniface, and Bridget Hopkins.

All three executives are based in London and will report to Matt Adams, Assembly Europe CEO; they will work with him and the rest of the agency’s leadership team to set strategic priorities, drive innovation and help manage growth in the region.

Appleby comes to Assembly with over 20 years of experience in the media sector. In his last role, he was Head of Client Success at Tailify, an influencer marketing company. Earlier he spent nearly five years as Managing Partner at PHD UK, leading media planning and buying for clients like Sainsbury’s, Nectar, Comparethemarket.com, Oatly, McVitie’s, Peroni, and the UK Government.

Boniface previously served as European Head of Digital at Rufus, an Amazon-focused agency within IPG Initiative. He oversaw the development and implementation of digital products for Amazon’s various business divisions, including Retail, Prime Video and Amazon Web Services.

Hopkins established her media career in Australia, working at Mitchell & Partners, an agency later acquired by Dentsu. In 2010, she joined MEC/Wavemaker Worldwide in London where she was client lead across brands, including Vodafone, Huawei, Lombard Odier, BlackRock, and Xerox.

The appointments follow the agency’s hiring of Greg Shickle last month to fill the new role of Chief Activation Officer in Europe. Shickle, who previously served at GroupM, is also based in London.
