The publisher of the "Daily Mirror" is to launch a new national newspaper at the end of the month, just weeks after the "Independent" announced it was dropping its print edition. "New Day," which could still undergo a name change before it launches nationally on 29 February, is expected to target a mid-market audience occupied by the "Mail" and "Express."

Facebook has announced that come April 12, its Instant Articles format -- which allows a publisher to post articles directly to the social media platform and results in faster loading times on mobile -- will become available to all publishers. When Facebook rolled out Instant Articles last year, it was only available to big-name publishers.

BBC presenter Jonathan Edwards is to make the jump to Eurosport in an exclusive deal to be its lead presenter fronting flagship sports programming including the Olympics. Edwards, the world-record-holding Olympian turned broadcaster, will become Discovery-owned Eurosport's exclusive lead presenter from 2017.

ITV is reviewing its media planning and buying account, putting Mindshare on alert. The broadcaster has approached a number of agencies and asked them to sign non-disclosure agreements. Mindshare is the incumbent on the business, which it won in 2005 after a pitch against Manning Gottlieb OMD and ZenithOptimedia.

Three-quarters (75%) of Brits will be encouraged to make a repeat purchase if a complaint is dealt with carefully by a brand, according to new research from the Ombudsman Services. In fact, 92% of British consumers are unwilling to return to a brand altogether if it deals with a complaint poorly. More than half of consumers (52%) think more highly of a business that handles complaints effectively, while a well-handled complaint makes customers 67% more likely to return to a company or brand.

Telefonica is opening up phone usage and browsing data from its O2 customers to brands to allow them to target ads at London Underground users. Exterion Media has partnered with Telefonica to access anonymous data from 25m O2 customers to generate "actionable demographic and behavioural detail" about Tube users. O2's data includes information on customers' lifestyles, gender, age and affluence. The telecoms giant ascertains affluence based on how customers use their phones.

In the early hours of Tuesday morning, as the credits for Gavin and Stacey rolled for one last time, the era of BBC3 as a traditional television channel came to an end. In a cost-saving move for the BBC, the channel, launched 13 years ago, becomes the first in the world to make the transition from TV broadcast to a solely online platform as BBC3's budget is cut from GBP85m to GBP30m, with the savings ploughed into drama on BBC1.

The outdoor display is made up of 2,500 toy models of the C4 Cactus. From a distance these miniatures form a composite picture of the car. OMD, Citroen's media planning and buying agency, conceived the campaign and said it is the UK's first mosaic billboard. It was built by students from the University of the Creative Arts and will be available for view on Friday 19 February until Sunday 21 February. It was installed by Swarm and bought by Talon and built inside Birmingham's Bullring shopping centre.

Dentsu Group has posted revenue of YEN 818.57 billion (GBP4.96 billion) for 2015 -- a 12.8% year-on-year increase. Gross profit for the Japanese group's full-year 2015 results stood at YEN 761.996 billion, a 12.6% rise. This was driven by a 9.4% organic gross profit growth in Dentsu's international business outside of Japan, Dentsu Aegis Network. Dentsu Aegis -- whose EMEA division includes Carat, Vizeum, and Mcgarrybowen -- posted a gross profit of YEN 157.15 billion for 2015, an increase of 15.4%.
