The group will buy 100% of Kameleon's equity for an initial consideration of GBP4.05m. Kameleon's clients include Danone, Quorn, RockCorps, Celebrity Cruises, Lee Cooper, National Citizens Service, City Index and Sony. The agency was founded in 2008 by Mark Webster, who is also the chief executive, and Richard Armstrong, the chief strategy officer.

Sales of the Apple Watch have fallen by 71%. Apple sold 1.1m of the devices in the third quarter of the year, down from 3.9m a year ago, according to research company IDC. Tim Cook, the company's chief executive, countered that the Apple Watch is set for its highest-ever sales in the current quarter, following the release of a new model in September.

Apple Music has said it will continue to tie artists to exclusive deals, as its number of paid subscribers passes 20 million for the first time. There has been criticism that putting albums behind a streaming paywall harms fans -- and ultimately, artists. "I don't think exclusives or promotions are anything new," Apple Music boss Eddy Cue said.

Snapchat has hired two agency-based marketers, with Mindshare's James Chandler and Manning Gottlieb's Glynn Jones both having arrived as the social media platform ramps up its European operation. Chandler, who was global mobile director at Mindshare and will take up his new position within the sales and partnership team in London.

UK shoppers are more likely than those in almost every other country to own loyalty cards, but are among the least likely to make shopping decisions based on them, according to data from Nielsen. Eighty-nine percent of UK respondents said they had at least one loyalty card, but 51% said that "all other factors equal, I will buy from a retailer with a loyalty program over one without."

James Murdoch was personally involved in authorising the deletion of emails at News International in early 2010 when the phone-hacking scandal was taking off, it has been alleged in the high court. It was claimed on Monday there were documents, emails and meeting agendas that showed senior executives including Murdoch and Rebekah Brooks pursued an email deletion policy.

The minister responsible for the digital economy has said there is no need for a post-Brexit tax deal with technology companies. Matt Hancock, the Minister of State for Digital and Culture, rejected the suggestion that Silicon Valley giants Facebook, Apple and Microsoft were encouraged to set up new London offices with attractive tax breaks.

Amazon has revealed plans for a grocery shop without a checkout process, where customers will instead pay for the goods they have selected via an app. The Just Walk Out shopping experience uses the same types of technologies found in self-driving cars. The system detects when items are taken or returned to shelves and tracks them in a virtual shopping trolley.

Research released by the IAB in October confirmed that we have reached a tipping point in mobile advertising. Its figures show that the amount spent on mobile display ads in the UK (GBP802m) overtook that of desktop and tablet display (GBP762m) for the first time during the first six months of 2016.
