Last week, the company began offering video games in 21,000 (out of a total 27,000) of its vending machines around the U.S. The games go for $2 for a 24-hour period, about double the cost of its DVD rental rate. According to PC Magazine, the company found (after a two-year test in 5,000 machines) that kiosks offering games along with the movie rentals had revenues that were 10-15% higher than those renting movies alone.
