'Rachael Ray In Season' Brings Back Annual Subscriptions, Home Delivery

Meredith Corp. is switching gears.

The company is bringing back home delivery and an annual subscription model to Rachael Ray In Season.

The Winter/Spring 2021 issue will be available nationwide beginning February 12, 2021. The quarterly will also continue to be available at newsstands with a $9.99 cover price.

Doug Olson, president of Meredith Magazines, said the changes are based on Rachael Ray In Season's audiences’ “positive response to the newsstand product.”

The decision is also inspired by the “successful experience” Meredith Corp. has had with Traditional Home, Cooking Light and Coastal Living.

The three brands recently pivoted from high-frequency, subscription-based magazines to a consumer-centric, newsstand-focused model.

Meredith Corp. then rolled out premium quarterly subscription options for all three brands.

Last year, for example, Traditional Homeended its bimonthly run, and became a newsstand-only title. This summer, Meredith Corp. announced the magazine's quarterly issues would be available for home delivery starting with the Fall/Winter 2020 issue.

Traditional Home continues to be available at newsstands for a $12.99 cover price.

An annual subscription of Rachael Ray In Season will cost $20 for four issues, the same as Traditional Home.

In January, Rachael Ray Every Day transitioned from a monthly subscription magazine to a newsstand-only quarterly bookazine.

It debuted a redesigned look and format, under a new name: Rachael Ray In Season.

The magazine also upgraded its paper stock and added new editorial sections and contributors.

“Every issue is designed to be a collector’s item, giving readers an immersive experience they’ll want to stretch out rather than race through with richer, of-the-moment content that’s personal in every way,” stated Rachael Ray In Season editor in chief Lauren Iannotti.

Its distribution is 400,000. The magazine originally launched in 2005.

Rachael Ray In Season is produced by Meredith Premium Publishing (MPP), which produces more than 300 special-interest issues per year. Recent MPP launches include Sweet July with Ayesha Curry and Reveal with Drew and Jonathan Scott.

MPP has sold more than 18 million copies at retail in fiscal 2020.
