Amanda Richman, U.S. CEO at GroupM’s Mindshare, has abruptly stepped down from her post, which she had held for nearly two years.
No immediate explanation was given for the departure. The agency confirmed the parting of ways without further elaboration.
Richman assumed the Mindshare role in April of 2021 after serving for nearly four years as U.S. CEO of sibling agency Wavemaker. She was that agency’s first U.S. leader and helped to oversee the integration of the two agencies that merged to form it (MEC and Maxus).

Richman is a 2009 MediaPost All Star and Mindshare is MediaPost’s most recent Media Agency of the Year, for 2022.
Word of Richman's departure was disclosed to the agency's rank and file late Monday in a memo from Global CEO Adam Gerhart and GroupM North America CEO Kirk McDonald. Gerhart and McDonald will oversee the operation until a successor for Richman is found.
