The actor, who is currently promoting the long-awaited Trainspotting sequel, T2, had been due to appear yesterday but dropped out at the last minute in protest at Morgan's comments about the women's marches that took place around the world on Saturday.

The site's editor and co-owner, Nigel Heaver -- a former press adviser to Nigel Farage -- said the site, called Westmonster, would funnel the different people who backed Brexit into one place using tactics learned from US sites Breitbart and the Drudge Report.

Disney, fresh off the release of "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," has activated the marketing for its next movie in the Star Wars series. On Monday 23 January, the company revealed the name of the second movie in the latest trilogy. It has been officially branded "The Last Jedi." The reveal from Lucasfilm also displayed a title card imbued with a red font for the first time.

Nearly three-quarters (73%) of the 285 media and marketing deals that happened in the UK last year had a digital focus, according to a study by accountancy firm Kingston Smith. "Within the marketing services sector, agencies with excellent digital capabilities were unsurprisingly in highest demand with digital agencies making up 53% of deals," noted the firm's report.

The gloomy expectations come as officials prepare this week to publish their first estimate for growth in the final quarter. A quarter of all UK credit and debit card transactions were contactless in November, propelling spending by that payment method to a new record. According to The UK Cards Association, 325 million purchases were made in the UK in November 2016 using cards' contactless option, accounting for 25% of all card payments during the period.
