W+K To Help DoorDash Craft Its Super Bowl Ads This Year

Commerce platform DoorDash has added Portland, OR-based Wieden + Kennedy to its agency roster with a remit to “help build the brand creatively and strategically, while expanding its existing brand love and tapping into new audiences.”

Wieden’s assignment also includes helping to shape the company’s plans for the Super Bowl next month. It will be the third time the company has played in the Big Game.

The Super Bowl messaging will incorporate DoorDash’s new brand platform, “Your Door To More.”

More details on the firm’s Super Bowl plans will be forthcoming.

The new brand platform kicks off with four films directed by Bine Bach Damsgaard. The first, titled, “Milk” debuts today with the remaining three rolling out over the next month.

“Milk” aims to show consumers a “stress-free life” where fresh milk can be delivered to their doorstep quickly, “because no one wants sour milk with their breakfast.”

The platform is designed to showcase how the company is taking its services beyond the restaurant category and expanding into other aspects of consumers' daily needs.

The work will run on social, broadcast and online and strives to show customers how they can get almost anything delivered from their local neighborhood stores to their door in minutes with the help of DoorDash.

The latest work is led by W+K Creative Directors, Christen Brestrup and Bertie Scrase, and overseen by the agency’s CCOs, Azsa West and Susan Hoffman, in partnership with Mariota Essery, Executive creative director and Rafa Segri, group creative director of Superette, DoorDash’s in-house creative team.

Kofi Amoo-Gottfried, CMO at DoorDash said that with Wieden, “we have a partner who shares our vision for the DoorDash brand, is unafraid to take big swings, and has an appetite – and a proven track record – for creating ideas that make brands matter in culture.”
