  • Vimeo Improves Its Roku App
    Video sharing platform Vimeo, with over 30 million users, unveiled its rebuilt Roku app on Thursday, marking the first major overhaul of the channel since it debuted on the set-top box in 2011. The update , features a new user interface designed to make content more discoverable on the homepage and reduce the number of clicks it takes to play a video by half.
  • Flipboard Venturing Into Video Advertising
    Flipboard is almost ready to roll out video advertising on its popular social reading platform. “Fashion brand Chanel is confirmed as an initial advertiser,” The Next Web reports. At an industry event, this week, Flipboard founder and CEO Mike McCue cited some Nielsen research, which found that advertising on Flipboard is more effective than TV ad spots. “That’s based on the company’s existing static, full-page advertising,” TNW notes. “It will be interesting to see how video changes that engagement rate.”
