• NFL Making VR Series For Google's Daydream, YouTube
    The NFL announced on Thursday a new nine-part, virtual reality limited series for YouTube and Google’s  new Daydream virtual reality headset. The series will be produced by the league’s film studio, NFL Films, will look at “life in and around the NFL — from players, to coaches, to executives, to cheerleaders, to the fans themselves — detailing how each prepares for game day,” the NFL outlined in a press release.

     Former NBC News executive Alex Wallace has joined Yahoo as its "acting head of video." A Yahoo rep told Variety that Wallace will be  working on “continuing our momentum” in video across news, sports, finance, and lifestyle.
  • Discovery Forms BAMTech Europe With MLB's BAMTech
    Discovery Communications has partnered with Major League Baseball’s BAMTech to form BAMTech Europe -- a streaming-video technology provider for broadcasters and OTT operators. “Under the pact, Eurosport Digital will become BAMTech Europe’s first client,” Variety reports. “The joint venture will gain access to select European sports rights from worldwide sports properties, including current and future rights acquired by BAMTech and jointly by Eurosport and BAMTech.”
  • Lionsgate Signs Grace Helbig For Movies, TV
    Probably the best known crossover YouTube star, Grace Helbig has a deal for content from Lionsgate, including a comedy with YouTube BFF Mamrie Hart. Lionsgate is also developing two other movies, and TV projects for Helbig.
