Responding to heightened concerned about ads running alongside offensive video on YouTube, Google is promising a safer environment for brands and publishers. Additionally, Google’s chief business officer, Philipp Schindler “says YouTube will also start letting outside companies like DoubleVerify and comScore audit its efforts to keep ads away from controversial clips,” Recode reports.

Netflix is now offering its offline viewing option to Windows 10 users. “The company is rolling out a new update to its Windows 10 app which brings the new feature, simply titled ‘Download & Go,’” MS Power User reports. Netflix first began rolling out an offline viewing option, last year.

Google says it has improved its ability to flag offending videos from YouTube and to instantly disable ads, too, Chief Business Officer Philipp Schindler told Bloomberg News. YouTube is now deploying artificial intelligence tools to search YouTube's huge library looking for inappropriate material. It's also started a brand safety channel that can be used by outsiders to see where ads are landing. But YouTube also says that given the volume of YouTube's videos, the controversy involves only a fraction of a fraction of its channels.
