Search Firm BlueGlass Acquires Quaturo

Chris-Winfield-BSearch marketing firm BlueGlass Interactive has acquired digital marketing agency Quaturo. Led by Kevin Gibbons, the five-person team will join BlueGlass's 75 employees to build out a presence in the United Kingdom, with the main office based in central London. Financial details were not disclosed.

Founded in June 2012, Quaturo supports content marketing and SEO services for a range of U.S. businesses, such as Vistaprint, Wonga, UCAS and Audley Travel with marketing services, such as search engine optimization (SEO), paid search, content marketing, and social media marketing on Twitter, Facebook and other sites.

The move gives BlueGlass clients like Disney, Home Shopping Network, Allstate, eBay, Macy's, NFL, and others support in the European market. Aside from London, the company supports offices in New York, Florida, California, South America, and Australia.

Chris Winfield, CMO and managing partner at BlueGlass, said there is no overlap when it comes to clients. "This is the start of our European expansion," he said. "We're looking at three different countries in continental Europe."

Today, Quaturo -- which focuses on content marketing -- contributes less than 10% of total combined revenue, but Winfield said there are already commitments in terms of bringing in new clients and adding new services.

BlueGlass will continue to build on its technology and business, growing revenue 65% year-over-year. The company said the Quaturo acquisition gives BlueGlass the ability to take on the properties of the big five agency holding companies, such as WPP, Omnicom, Publicis, Interpublic and Havas, and fill the gap between big and one-man shops and boutiques.
