The online video network and advertising solutions company announced plans to go public about a month ago and took the plunge this morning. Its $10 per share initial prrice is somewhat below where some analysts thought it would be. UPDATE: It closed at $8.50.

SnagFilms, the five year old specialty/art/indie film free movie service today will announce the beta launch of a new Website with new features--a little bit of a mash-up of movie service and social Website that will encourage viewers to sign up to share movie recommendations to friends and others, or pick from recommendations by Snag's panel of film experts. The beta test will involve only 1,000 participants so ad-supported Snag can determine any necessary tweaks before a broader launch, probably as early as next week,

Vobok, a new service that allows users to make 30-second sound messages--a kind of audio Twitter--hired Alan Daniels, formerly a Sony Pictures Television senior VP of marketing, as its chief marketing officer.
