In-text ad company Vibrant has a Lightbox Image format that identifies "brand-safe" images, then overlays advertising on top of them: a message asking users to hover over the image or click on it to watch a video. The ad can also be activated through in-text ads. There's a 3-2-1 countdown before the video starts, and the advertiser pays only if the viewer actually chooses to watch the video.

Bank of America has shifted brand advertising duties to a WPP team from Omnicom Group's BBDO, according to two executives familiar with the matter. The selection of WPP comes after a process that the bank, under its CMO Anne Finucane, began in January. WPP will now be responsible for the rollout of a new strategic positioning -- or what Bank of America was internally calling the development of a "North Star" that would signal to Wall Street and consumers that it's a new day at the bank, helping to repair the company's tarnished image.

Automakers traditionally shut factories for a period during the summer, but Chrysler, buoyed by double-digit sales gains that have outpaced the overall U.S. market for 14 months in a row, is struggling to keep up with demand. The company will cancel planned summer shutdowns at four of its North American assembly plants, the maker says.

Best Buy Co. Chief Marketing Officer Barry Judge resigned from the world's largest consumer electronics chain this week, a spokesman said. Judge is leaving the company "to explore the next chapter in his career," Best Buy spokesman Greg Hitt said in an email on Thursday.
