Zynga Inc., the biggest maker of social games, reported third-quarter revenue that surpassed analysts' estimates partly because "FarmVille 2" became the most popular application on Facebook Inc.'s social network. Some malls are pushing out national restaurant chains to focus more on local and regional brands, while some traditional food court brands are looking to go elsewhere as mall development slows. Thus, several restaurant chains that once looked to food courts exclusively are finding new opportunities outside the mall. Rosemead, Calif.-based Panda Express, a 1,500-unit chain, now has only about 230 mall locations. "Our focus remains on obtaining quality locations in the right trade areas, whether it's in a mall or street store," a spokesperson said.

Best Buy warned that earnings and same-store sales would fall for its third quarter, and said the head of its U.S. business will leave as the company begins restructuring under a new CEO. U.S. business president Mike Vitelli will leave at the end of the current fiscal year in early February with a lump-sum payment of $1.45 million, and the executive vice president of U.S. operations, Tim Sheehan, will leave the company at the end of this month.

Facebook brand engagement has risen 896% on a year-over-year basis, according to a new advertising study from Adobe. The study said the uptick is consequent to Facebook's new Timeline feature. Another report released earlier this year found that the feature garnered positive results for small to medium-sized brand pages. About a quarter of Facebook engagement came from mobile users. Mobile growth on Facebook engagement also came with increased mobile marketing gains overall.

Honda will reveal an "emergency refresh" of its much-faulted Civic model next month, likely at the annual L.A. Auto Show, hoping to address the numerous problems that made the car a whipping post. In the meantime, the maker is pressing dealers to clear out leftover 2012 Civics as quickly as possible because the coming update will make it "a difficult model (to) sell," according to a report.

The Obama for America content consists of campaign videos on the less busy pages of the site. The political ad content follows BuzzFeed's format, used by JetBlue and others. BuzzFeed has increased its reporting staff with a bureau in Washington, D.C., and staff in Los Angeles.
