BMW Mini has invited around four undisclosed agencies to pitch for its digital business in China. German creative agency Interone, Mini's media AOR in China for more than six years, is tasked with developing and producing print, digital and outdoor communications. Hylink is the incumbent digital agency, while Carat is the original media agency. Mini models sold in China include the Countryman, Coupe, Cabrio, Roadster, Clubman and Ray.

The Pantry Inc.'s initiative to stock stores with items specifically aimed at particular demographics -- is performing well enough that the convenience store chain will "accelerate the rollout," president and CEO Dennis Hatchell said during the company's 2013 first-quarter earnings call. The Pantry now offers products aimed at Hispanic, college and beach audiences at several of its Kangaroo Express stores.

Whole Foods Market could be mulling e-commerce, according to an analyst report on Friday. Kate Wendt, a San Francisco-based analyst with Wells Fargo Securities, said in the report that the natural and organic specialist had filed several trademarks in January "that point to a potential move toward mobile, e-commerce, store pickup and delivery." She said she believes Whole Foods could launch the service in nonfood areas such as vitamins/supplements and natural HBC, before expanding into grocery product.

Pizza Hut debuted pizza sliders following Sunday's football game. The mini-pizzas are 3.5 inches across, compared to the 6-inch diameter of a standard Pizza Hut personal pie. Customers can pick up nine sliders for $10 or three for $5. Pizza Hut is giving away free samples of the small pizzas from 4 to 7 p.m. local time on Tuesday. In March, research group Technomic found that 48% of consumers say they're snacking at least twice a day, compared with the quarter who said the same in 2010.
