The 2016 Mazda6 helped Mazda to a 7.5% sales jump last month. So went sales for other imports. Besides Mazda's best sales in 20 years, Subaru, Jaguar Land Rover, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi and Maserati all chalked up double-digit gains. Hyundai also posted record sales after a 6% sales increase. But Honda, Kia and Volkswagen, reported sales declines and Volvo remained flat.

Samsung and Samsonite see the value of the Internet of Luggage. They are teaming up to develop smart bags that will likely be easier to buy and more accessible. They will have, obviously, location and mobile notification features, such as GPS tracking, anti-tampering alerts and wander warnings. Samsonite is also working with airlines on baggage that checks itself in -- drop them off and they'd tell the airport about your airline, the weight and your destination.

Starbucks Corp. debuted this week its first express unit in New York City. The pilot program includes four more locations in New York this year. Starbucks had said it also plans to add "Reserve Bars" for premium micro-lot coffees to 500 locations. And there are more drive-thru locations as part of the global plan to reach over 30,000 locations over the next five years.

Elon Musk's electric car company will begin selling used automobiles via its website with an extended, 4-year or 50,000-mile limited warranty on its used vehicles. The company already sells preowned Tesla Roadsters through its site. The Model S units coming off lease would be next up on the site. The company continues to develop its network of Tesla-branded Supercharger stations throughout the US, Europe and Asia-Pacific regions.

Honda is going with a straightforward, surefire sales formula for its new HR-V subcompact SUV: low price, high gas mileage, and big space inside. Oh, and Honda's reputation for reliability. On the price side of the equation, the vehicle starts at $19,995 including destination charges when it rolls into showrooms mid-May. That price makes it affordable for young urbanites with the proverbial "stuff" to carry around. The fuel economy is 28 miles per gallon in the city, 35 mpg on the highway. The company expects to sell 70,000 HR-Vs a year.

Procter & Gamble's Gillette Lounge, Pantene Salon, and the Old Spice Styling Den were at the NFL Draft, where players received "Smellcome to the NFL" kits. The draft, which aired beginning Thursday night, puts young athletes and their families into the media spotlight. P&G is giving the prospective draftees and their families "makeovers, hairstyles and clean shaves so they look their best for the biggest moment of their lives," Cincinnati-based P&G said in a statement.

Former Wendy's CMO Craig Bahner has joined Kellogg Co. as president of the company's U.S. morning foods division. Bahner joined Wendy's in 2012 following a long career at P&G. The QSR chain had announced Bahner would leave in early 2015, as part of a management reshuffle. Kellogg also said its chief growth officer, Paul Norman, will be president of Kellogg North America. Norman had been leading the morning foods business on an interim basis. Bahner will report to Norman.
