• Facebook Offers Food Delivery
    The social media giant has a new function called "Order Food." Users will be able to browse nearby restaurants and order directly from the business. Instead of competing with other food ordering services, Facebook is working with restaurant chains directly, like Jack in the Box, Five Guys, Papa John's, Wingstop, TGI Friday's, Denny's, El Pollo Loco, Chipotle, Jimmy John's and Panera.

    DSW's campaign is about female empowerment and individual self-expression. Featuring the song "Most Girls" by Hailee Steinfeld, "My Shoes, My Way" will run through the end of the year. The spot used a variety of strong, confident women. Shot on location in New Orleans, the cast is composed of local women and girls, including a lead ballerina and students at the Sophie B. Wright Charter School, which also served as a shoot location.

    Back in February, J.C. Penney said it planned to close about 140 struggling stores. That might be just the beginning. Analysts at System2 LLC, a big-data startup, have identified another 197 stores at risk. Using algorithms and machine learning, the company says it can determine which stores have a future and which ones will die - and do it more accurately than investors that rely on conventional information.

    General Motors plans to be the first company to test self-driving cars in New York City, a move aimed at asserting leadership in the race to develop autonomous cars and a potentially important step toward commercializing the technology. GM will deploy a fleet of self-driving Chevrolet Bolt electric cars early next year in a five-square-mile section of lower Manhattan that engineers are mapping.

    Starbucks is rumored to be planning to roll out a Zombie Frappuccino just in time for the spookiest day of the year. According to photos leaked by baristas on social media, coffee lovers will be able to try the creepy beverage Oct. 26-but it will reportedly only be available through Halloween itself, so be ready to act quickly. The freaky flavor is rumored to include a blend of "green apple caramel powder and pink powder."
  • Unilever Intros Lipton Organic Black Tea
    Unilever is expanding its Lipton range in the U.S. with the launch of organic black tea from the Kenyan Highlands. The product follows on from last month's launch of a range of Lipton Wellness teas with essential oils and herbs. Unilever said the new black tea, which is Rainforest Alliance certified, can be enjoyed hot or cold. The black tea is now available in the U.S. with a recommended retail price of $4 per box of 72 tea bags.

    Ally Bank is delivering on its brand promise to "Do It Right for Its Customers" by celebrating National Online Bank Day 2017-held each year on the second Monday of October-with a "You're in Charge" giveaway and brand activation. The banking subsidiary of Ally Financial delivered phone chargers to consumers via a customized drone at the Carolina Place Mall in Charlotte, N.C.

    If your dog or cat has been eyeing your designer furnishings with major jealousy, they're in for a treat. Ikea recently began rolling out its "Lurvig" collection of pet furniture and accessories. According to the Ikea catalog, the "comprehensive" collection, which is named after the Swedish word for "shaggy," was developed by "pet loving designers with support from trained veterinarians."
