• Trade Investigation Could Spur Tariffs On Foreign Cars
    President Trump called for tariffs on imported cars, trucks and auto parts Wednesday, potentially expanding to the auto industry the same protectionist measures he's threatened on aluminum and steel. Trump said he asked Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross to investigate whether the auto imports are a threat to national security. If so, he would be able to institute tariffs under Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962 — one of the strongest trade tools in the president's arsenal.
  • Apple Signs Deal With VW For Driverless Cars
    Apple sought partnerships with BMW and Mercedes-Benz to develop an all-electric self-driving vehicle, but on-again, off-again talks with those companies have ended after each rebuffed Apple’s requirements to hand over control of the data and design, some of the people said. Instead, Apple has signed a deal with Volkswagen to turn some of the carmaker’s new T6 Transporter vans into Apple’s self-driving shuttles for employees.
  • 'Consumer Reports' Finds Issues With Tesla Model 3
    Consumer Reports found issues with the Tesla Model 3 that keep it from earning a recommendation. The outlet found flaws in the Model 3's braking distance, controls and ride quality. In CR’s testing, Model 3's braking distance from 60 mph was 152 feet, a distance that the outlet claimed is “far worse than any contemporary car [it has] tested” and was nearly seven feet longer than the braking distance of a Ford F-150.”
  • Ulta Makes Fortune 500
    Retailer Ulta Beauty has cracked the Fortune 500 list, securing its place among the country’s most successful companies. Fortune’s 64th annual list ranks companies by revenue. The media company said firms on the list total $12.8 trillion in revenue — two-thirds of the U.S. gross domestic product. As a group, they have 28.2 million employees worldwide, making them “the most important engine of both the U.S. and the global economy.”
  • Teens Exposed To Junk Food Eat More Of It
    According to the largest study of its kind, people aged 11 to 19 who watched one extra advertisement per week about junk food, over the average of six, ate an additional 350 calories in foods high in salt, sugar and fat every week, adding up to 18,000 extra calories per year. The study of 3,300 teens was conducted by Cancer Research UK and is being presented at the European Congress on Obesity in Vienna.
  • Puma To Open New York Flagship
    German sportswear-maker Puma SE has signed a lease deal to open a flagship store on Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue shopping corridor, creating a marquee location that will be the first of its kind for the company in North America. Puma is taking a three-level, 24,000 square-foot space, according to SL Green Realty Corp. A redevelopment will include double-height storefronts that wrap around the building.

  • Samsung Pokes Fun At Throttled iPhone
    Samsung is coming at Apple and the iPhone through a new commercial that pokes fun at Apple’s revelation that it may throttle or slow down iPhones with older, near-depleted batteries. The timing of Samsung's spot is a tad curious, in that Apple apologized for the battery issue back in December and said it would offer out-of-warranty replacement batteries for as little as $29.

Initial items for sale include autographed photos and magazine covers, tennis racquets, Nike Serena Court Power Dress and Nike shoes, including kicks double-signed by Serena and Upper Deck exclusive endorser Michael Jordan.
